I have a stupid question. How are trees helping to fight against global warming? So they use CO2 from the atmosphere and it becomes wood. When the tree dies and its trunk falls down and decays, it logically goes back to the atmosphere. To capture carbon, the tree has to fossilize. Is that correct?
